Willie Newsum Jr. has been a devout Christian for over seventy-one years. Willie began serving his religious call of duty under the late Rev Oris Lee Mays of the Boston Baptist Church, where he served in many leadership capacities. Wille was ordained in 2000 by his current pastor Bishop R. G. Clark of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Willie has received several awards and accommodations that span some 50 years. Willie served in the US Navy for twenty-two years and eighteen years at FedX in Memphis TN. Willie has earned several associate degrees in Applied Science from State Tech beginning in 1980 with an Applied Science Mechanical Technology, 1981 Building Construction Technology, and 1984 a degree in Electronic Technology. Willie was married to the late Leatrice V. Newsum for over 62 years and has three kids from that union. Willie likes spending his spare time with his grandkids, church, and visiting friends and family!
